Our Chair

 

The Sheikh Mohammed Hussein Al-Amoudi Chair for Breast Cancer Research is one of many harbored by King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah. It came to being in 2008 as a response to the rapidly emerging need to focus on the disease, the most common type of cancer among Saudi women. Studies have shown that breast cancer rates are on the rise, which inevitably leads to poorer health and extra burdens on the country’s resources.

Hence, breast cancer has become a key issue in the Kingdom’s healthcare sector that cannot be overlooked, and action concerning it cannot be delayed. As such, we at the chair came up with a strategy based on three key factors:
